1879 Queen Victoria 'Gothic' Florin with no WW initials, possibly dies 5 + B (S 3898B). Obverse: detailed crowned bust of Victoria by William Wyon, facing left with Latin legend in blackletter type around that reads 'Victoria d: g: britt: reg: f: d: mdccclxxix' with no stop after the date. Reverse: crowned cruciform shields of arms with national flower emblems in the angles, designed by William Dyce. The legend reads 'One florin' above with 'one tenth of a pound' below. Edge: milled. Weight: 11.36g. Diameter: 29.9mm. Mintage: 1,512,200. Grade: VF - Very Fine, toned. Old dealer's ticket included.
