‘SIMBA’, THE FAMOUS WORLD RECORD LION, STUFFED AS A TAXIDERMY FULL MOUNT IN 1973-1974 (PANTHERA LEO).

Provenance: ‘Simba’ was famous for many TV and film productions including the 1963 movie 'Cleopatra' which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. More notedly in 1970, Simba was The Guinness Book of World Records Holder for being the largest Lion in captivity, weighing in at a whopping 825lb. Simba spent most of his earlier life in Colchester Zoo before spending the rest of his days at Knaresborough Zoo, North Yorkshire, where he passed away peacefully in 1973 at the age of 14. In more recent times (for the past 20+ years), Simba has been the main centre of attraction at a large antique centre in South Wales, The Pumping Station. The specimen detaches from the base for ease of transportation and can stand unaided to be displayed without the base if one desires. Video reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7os3MpcBMU
