Teddy Bear - a large early 20th century German (likely Steiff ) made teddy bear. Pale golden mohair, with boot button eyes, pronounced snout and a vertically stitched nose, black stitched claws, jointed limbs and head. Felt pads, wood-wool stuffing, and prominent hump with elongated arms. No maker's marks or ear button present. Measures approx 28" / 71cm tall. Supplied with an old photograph of a child holding a teddy bear, believed to be this bear, with a German photographer's credit in pencil to the corner. Faded.

Provenance: Believed ex-Bonhams c1990s with old catalogue listing and illustration to rear of photograph frame. 

Condition - small tear to the snout, old repairs to the felt pads on feet and some repairs / wear to the felt pads on the hands, small areas of baldness etc. Other repairs / wear may be present. Generally in very good condition for age.
