AN ELIZABETH I/JAMES I CARVED OAK PANEL, SALISBURY, CIRCA 1580-1620. Designed with a double-headed eagle, with chip-carved feather detail, and issuing leafy sprays, 29cm x 16.5cm The City of Salisbury coat of arms bears double-headed eagle supporters. Their design is clearly shown on the back panels of two open armchairs, dated 1585 and 1622, in The King's House Museum, Salisbury and illustrated Victor Chinnery, 'Oak Furniture: The British Tradition' (2016), p. 404.
