WW1 6th Dragoon Guards / Machine Gun Guards Casualty Group of Three Medals.

Awarded to “8452 PTE F CHAPPLE 6-D GDS.”. Comprising: 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal. Mounted for display. ... Accompanied by a quantity of research.

Private Frederick Charles Chapple was born in Cardiff and enlisted on the 7th September 1914 into the 3rd Reserve Regiment of Cavalry. He was posted to the 6th Dragoon Guards and landed in France on the 17th March 1915. In November 1917 he transferred to the Machine Gun Guards Regiment and was posted to Egypt in January 1918 only to later return to the Western Front. He is reported as died on the 7th July 1918 at Albamy Road Hospital Cardiff.
