R.M.S. OLYMPIC: Scarce original postcard by Walton of Belfast, either 1910 or 1911 (posted from Northern Ireland much later), showing a floating crane lifting the aftermost fourth funnel into the Olympic. The crane was designed by Bertha Krupp (after whom the 'Big Bertha' gun of WWI was named), and made for Harland & Wolff by Benrather Maschinenfabrik in Germany. It was capable of lifting a load of 150 tons to a height of 149ft.
