A Roman Siliqua of Arcadius, Mediolanum (Milan) Mint. Obv: DN ARCADI (....) AVG, pearl-diademed draped and cuirassed bust right. Rec: VIRTVS ROMANORVM, Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory on a globe and inverted spear, MDPS in exerge. c. 0.76g.
This coin will have formed part of the last official shipment of silver coins to Britain from Rome, from c.410 AD when Rome abandoned its interest in the province.
