U.S.S.R.; 1920 letter in battered unpostmarked envelope, dated 14.3.1920 on “BEF Expeditionary Force Canteens” notepaper, at Constantinople, in French, from a Russian woman to her female friend, in affectionate but despairing terms, talking about “the Bolsheviks going to live in my little room”, an officer “making gaffe after gaffe” about travel arrangements, and “being without a ha’penny”. An interesting insight to the times.
Also 1916 postcard from Tiflis to Zurich.
