Slavery and The Abolitionist Movement - a 19th century printed leaflet, The Slave's Parody, printed for the Peckham Ladies' African and Anti-Slavery Association, by Howlett and Brimmer, 10 Frith Street, Soho, in gilt, 15.5cm x 12cm, rosewood frame, 25cm x 20.5cm overall

This association was set up in 1828, and was part of a larger political movement led by women (many Quaker) who sought to boycott slave-produced sugar and so weaponize their considerable purchasing power in the fight for abolition
