A heavy brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss of military appearance, 32” overall, unmarked slightly swamped 3 stage barrel 16” of late 17th century form, secured by 2 flat barrel wedges; plain rounded lock with wide safety bolt and stout swan neck cock; walnut fullstock with chequered wrist, plain brass mounts, and bone tipped ramrod (repaired). Good Working Order and Clean Condition, dark patina to lock, the stock appears to date from about 1800, the metalwork earlier. Plate 4
