AN IRISH 18TH CENTURY CARVED MAHOGANY CHAIR BACKED SETTEE, this beautiful piece of Irish antique furniture is in fantastic condition with a provenance by repute to be from Birr Castle in Co. Offaly. The carved detail to the back is really fantastic; with three scrolling crest rails & an intertwined pierced splat back to each, to the sides a scrolling armrest that rests upon a graduated ring turned upright. The drop in seat covered with a cream coloured damask upholstery. All raised on cabriole shaped legs with pad feet. Condition: in great original condition, ready to use.
