1861 Kildare Rifles 1827 Pattern Rifle Regiment officer's sword and scabbard, blade 40% ornately etched including QV crown & cypher, other side with QV crown/Kildare/strung bugle and closer to grip "Fortis Cadere, Cedere Non Potest" in scroll with badge above (translates as "the brave may fall, but will not yield), some bluing remains to etched areas, ricasso marked Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London in 4 lines, back of blade numbered 11178 (1861 number), guard includes strung bugle, wire and fishskin grip with some wear and missing patches, blade in good condition with no knicks, metal scabbard is incorrect for sword and slightly short.
