SEALED ENGLISH BLADDER WINE BOTTLE. (Burton Vol 3, p1493). 6.5ins tall. A wonderful, small size, freeblown, bladder wine, c.1720-30? Dark to mid green glass. (Burton records: this interesting bottle is sealed with two coats of arms suggesting an engagement or celebration of a marriage between the family of an early & a viscount? Only example recorded.) Hand written base note says - Almost identical one in the V & A. String rim & lip rear chips, but an attractive, rarely offered, early sealed black glass form.
