A PERSIAN SAFAVID ILLUMINATED MINIATURE PAINTING, 16TH CENTURY

This exquisite Safavid-period miniature painting, dating to the 16th century. Rendered in vibrant pigments and gold leaf, the scene depicts a finely detailed courtly setting, showcasing figures in traditional Safavid attire within an elaborate architectural backdrop. The central figure, seated in a position of prominence, is surrounded by attendants.

The painting is framed by a striking floral border in deep blue and gold, surrounded by a wider gilt frame with delicate foliate patterns. The work is mounted in a frame with a triple border.
