57th (West Middlesex) Regiment of Foot pre 1855 Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate badge. Good scarce gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver Bath Star. Mounted on the star, a gilt crowned Maltese cross bearing battle honours on the ends of the arms. To the centre of the cross, a laurel wreath encircling a pierced circlet inscribed TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO on red enamel ground; within the circlet, three gilt crowns on white enamel. Beneath the cross, an oval silver tablet bearing seeded 57. Two hooks and two studs retaining leather liner. GC Became 1st Bn The Middlesex Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881
