Priestley (John Boynton, 1894-1984). An original two-sided typed letter on Billingham Manor, Isle of Wight headed paper, signed by John Boynton Priestley, dated 7th February 1940, to C.E.M. Joad (philosopher, author and broadcaster), letter follows receipt of the draft of his book (Philosophy for our Times). He offers some "scattered observations" and goes on to be extremely critical. In the PS he suggests that Joad should write a book examining Buddhism, 20cm x 26cm approx., Priestley was an English novelist, playwright, screenwriter, broadcaster and social commentator.
