George William Morrison was an Irish artist known for his landscape paintings and portraits. Born in Dublin, he studied at the Royal Hibernian Academy and in Paris. Morrison’s works often featured Ireland’s rural beauty, with a focus on rolling hills, rivers, and stone bridges. His style evolved from realism to incorporate elements of impressionism. A skilled draughtsman, he also painted portraits that captured the character of his subjects. Morrison's contribution to Irish art is significant, particularly in his portrayal of the Irish landscape, and his legacy continues to be celebrated today.
