1741-1835 Entire letters (9) and fronts (2) including 1741 letter from Samuel Squire at St. John's College with "CAM / BRIDGE" handstamp; 1784 letter sent free from Horfield to Droitwich reporting the escape of three felons from prison and asking what action is to be taken against the Keeper of the prison, with "22 BRISTOL" first type mileage mark; 1794 and 1828 prepaid letters from the Victualling Office in London to H.M.S "Bonetta" at Portsmouth or H.M.S "Gloucester" at Sheerness, the first with "POST / PAID" experimental datestamp; 1834 printed wrapper "Uniformity of Weights and Measures" prepaid 7d, etc. Also an unused lettersheet with printed address panel "Missent and Redirected Letters / His Majestys Postmaster General / London".
