English School (20th century) - "The first time my groom saw the Horse Guards he had a good stare at them - one of the soldiers made believe to cut off his head - the boy called out (you Darsent)", caricature illustration, possibly for a magazine, inscribed, pencil pen ink and watercolour heightened with white, 7.5" x 6.25"; together with four further military related pictures including an old book plate entitled Horse Guards Under Fire Again, a sketch in Whitehall during the re-paving of the road, print after the original illustration by Mark Stone "It's a real man's life join the regular army" another print of a gentleman wearing a tunic uniform, a large print of the Life Guards on horseback in Horse Guards Parade, and an oil painting signed T.
