The Henry & Tricia Byrom Collection - an 8-day striking longcase clock movement signed 'Chas. Gretton / London' on the chapter ring and again 'Gretton London' on the dial, circa 1690, brought up to date in a London purpose made mahogany case, circa 1770, the 11-inch brass dial with added arch, the five pillar movement with inside countwheel, 84.65ins. (215cms.) high. Provenance - purchased at Sotheby's, 30 May 1991, lot 303.
