AN EGYPT MEDAL PAIR TO A SURGEON WITH THE ROYAL NAVY. A pair comprising Egypt Medal 1882-89 without clasp, the reverse undated, named to F.G. Wright Surgn. H.M.S. Briton. And Khedive's Star unnamed as issued dated 1884. Francis George Wright was born in 1852, he qualified as a surgeon joining the Royal Navy 1878. He had a checkered career in the Navy being cautioned in 1879 for misconduct and the following year Court Martialed pleading guilty and being dismissed from his ship, for-fitting his seniority and not to be employed for six months. He requested two years leave to visit Australia in 1889 returning in 1890. He was placed on the retired list in 1891. He returned to Australia and died in January 1897. With copied research.
