A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE ROYAL SUSSEX REGIMENT. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 290466 Pte P.D. Jessup R. SUSS R. Percy David Jessup also served with the 1st Battalion of the London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers). He was the son of of Mrs M.A. Jessup of 53 Kent Terrace, Church Road, Mitchum, Surrey. He died of wounds on the 7th December 1917, he is buried on the Somme at Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Mannacourt, his headstone reads 'In Loving memory of our darling boy who gave his life for King & Country'.
