Two 19th century Chinese fans, Qing Dynasty, the first with carved and pierced bone monture fitted with a Mandarin leaf, featuring figures and buildings the figures with applied ivory faces, the robes of applied silk, guard approx. 27.5 cm; together with a good black lacquer fan monture, painted in gold with bats, urns and flowers, lacking a leaf but the ribs are present (2) Ivory submission reference LK14F4MR

The Mandarin fan gorge sticks need to be reapplied within the leaf, and the gorge sticks have two areas of loss. One large split to one leaf fold, the leaf rubbed in places.
