A Chinese Tang Dynasty (AD 618-906) pottery figure of a Court Lady, modelled standing with her body swayed to one side and her head coyly turned in unison, her hands, held in front of her chest and concealed within the wide sleeves of her robe, which gathers at the floor and conceals one of her feet, the other emerging from the opposite side, her hair dressed in an elaborate coiffure, 19 1/8in. (48.5cm.) high. * Provenance: Purchased by the current owner from Dragon Culture Ltd., Hollywood Road, Hong Kong, June 2000. Accompanied by a thermoluminescence analysis report by Oxford Authentication Ltd., dated 7th April 2000 confirming that the age is consistent with the suggested period of manufacture.
