A grey schist relief of Indra, Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century A.D., his hands folded in prayer, muscular torso covered in drapery, moustachioed face flanked by earrings, hair in chignon, backed by halo, with another partial figure to the right, 43cm high
Provenance - London private collection, formed between early 1940s-1972
Please note this is a fragmentary figure so the figure to the right is missing and there are a few leading edge chips but in essence the main figure is in good condition.
