A good 1796 pattern heavy cavalry officer's dress pattern sword, blade 34¾" etched, blued and gilt with crowned GR cypher, Royal Arms, figure of an officer with bicorn hat, trophies, standing figure of Britannia, angel with trumpet and scrolls, the back edge marked "Wooley & Deakins Improved Steel", gilt regulation pattern hilt with silver wire bound grip, in its gilt mounted leather scabbard. Good Condition, retaining most original gilt (a little wear, some rust marks to blade, the scabbard slightly worn and limp). £2500-3000
