Maritime history - an imposing 19th century striking table clock with presentation inscription relating to Wilson Line of steamers and mounted with a bronze bust of Odysseus. The bronzed metal and gilt clock in Classical style, glazed gilt dial (diameter 14cm) signed Thos Reynoldson Hull, Roman chapter. The clock stands on paw feet and mounted to sides with leopard's head and ring. Presentation plate reads 'Presented with a service of plate to Matthew Brown Esq on his relinquishing the post of Marine Superintendent of the 'Wilson' Line of Steamers...August 1874'. The clock is surmounted with a bronze bust of Odysseus on a gilt pediment. Height of clock 30cm, overall height with bust 57.5cm. Movement is unsigned. With key and pendulum
