A VICTORIAN ROYAL NAVY LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT AWARD TO H.M.S. ASIA. A Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with wide suspension (44mm) second type reverse, named to Hy. Hart Sailmr. H.M.S. Asia 20 Yrs. Engraved naming. Harry Hart was awarded this on the 22nd of September 1874 after 20 years service. Probably born on the 15th January 1834 at Deptford in Kent he may have had number 70261. An 84 gun second rate ship of the line HMS Asia had been Cordington's flagship at the Battle of Navarino. From 1858 she served as a guardship *Condition: Slightly polished. Mounted court style for display.
