UK Perfins; The following group of lots each represent an alphabetical section from Terry Wood's principal collection of perfins. Only the stamps of Queen Victoria to King George VI are included (QE in later lot), and all stamps are arranged alphabetically by the perfin initials or name.
Any one die may well have a number of stamps, but these will normally be different stamps (including variations of watermark, plate number, etc.). Condition is generally good/fine, though some faulty examples are included. The collection is notable both for its coverage of different dies, and its wide variety of adhesives including high values.
Our estimated quantities are based on samples and averages, and our preliminary illustrations are of the 1st, 21st, 41st, etc. populated pages (sides) of that lot, rather than what we think looks best. The first stamp for each die (turned backwards) is sometimes a duplicate of the others, sometimes different.
