Fine Victorian Presentation Bowie Knife by "Ibbotson Brothers & Co" and "Celebrated Cast Steel" (to ricasso). Large classic shaped Bowie blade 12" x 1.5". Right hand grip engraved in running script "Presented to Mr Henry Shield - By The Lady Stall Keepers of the Gateshead Volunteer Rifle Bazaah" "Oct 5th 1861". Left hand of blade with engraving of a Buffalo Hunt by Cowboys on horseback and hunting dogs. Two banners "Sheffield England" and Hunting Knife" (some rubbing). Minor staining to blade, plain brass guard, in its brass mounted leather scabbard. Tip of scabbard requires attention, brass locket has a frog stud for attaching to a belt loop. Super piece
