A late Song Jian ware tea bowl. The deep conical bowl with a slightly everted rim, covered in thick, lustrous black glaze with suffused with a pattern of variegated iridescent "oil spots". Marked "供御" Being an iimperial tea cup set used by the Royal court. Presented with wooden box. Measures approx. 12.5cm diameter.
The current owner acquired it from Japan in 2002.
