A 19th century two day marine chronometer by A Johannsen & Co. London. The 4in. silvered dial signed as per title and numbered 1555, chain fusee movement with balance, silvered helical spring and jewelled detent, Earnshaw escapement, spotted backplates counter-numbered contained within gimbal-mounted brass bowl in a three-tier mahogany wooden box of issue with locking arm, tipsy key, drop handles and circular maker’s plate, approximately -- 7 ½in. (19cm.) cubed.
