Matsumoto Hozan (active c.1900) Meiji Period (1868-1912) Satsuma porcelain globular footed vase with flared rim. Of exceptionally fine quality, painted with interior family scene with view of fields behind to one panel and Mt. Fuji horseback village scene to reverse. Side reserves show an ikebana rock arrangement and an unusual fishing themed trophy. Borders and recesses are filled with polychrome and heavily gilt repeat patterns and insect motifs. 'Satsuma' character marks to base. Height: 22cm
