1914 Star of 9576 Private Charles Knight of the 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers.Resident of King's Cross, London. Enlisted 19th August 1903 and posted to 4th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. Joined 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers on 20th February 1904 and served in Mauritius and India. Transferred to the Army Reserve on 29th October 1906. Mobilised for war service on 5th August 1914, and landed in France on 12th September 1914. Medically evacuated with a gunshot wound to the foot on 19th November 1914. Returned to the Depot on 11th January 1915 and posted to 3rd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. Discharged medically unfit on 31st August 1916 from 3rd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers.
