Sierra Leone. 1879 Stampless cover to England, endorsed by the sender "H.M.S Dido, Sierra Leone" and "no stamps procurable", charged "6d" with circular "CH" handstamp of Bristol, backstamped Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s (Sep 24) and at Bristol. An unusual cover, charged at the 6d Officers rate (2d more than the rate had it been posted in Sierra Leone). Photo on Page 72.
