A 19th Century .36 cal percussion concealed pistol, 1 1/4 inch barrel, mounted on a later leather strap.
NB - This was worn on the rear of the person and carried at half cock. If entering a dangerous situation, one could pull the cord triggering the device which sent a 36 calibre lead ball into the attackers midsection to disable him.
Some loss to the edge of the hammer where it strikes the cap, leather possibly later.
