A VERY GOOD 19TH CENTURY SILVER PLATED EWER JUG, decorated with a central band of Roman warrior-like figures, with Chariots, horses, winged figures & others. The hinged lid is topped with a fantastic gladiator helmet shaped finial. To the side is a scroll shaped long handle, and the edge of the rim has a gadrooned detail. Resting on a circular base. Maker’s mark to the underside for Roberts & Belk. Circa 1865. Dimensions: 34 x 16 x 13cm (H X W x D).
