£10,000 - £15,000
A ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL TURN-O-GRAPH STAINLESS STEEL GENTLEMAN'S WRISTWATCH. model no. 6202, circa 1954, the signed black dial inscribed ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL OFICIALLY CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER TURN-O-GRAPH, with dot hour markers, baton quarters and gilt outer minutes track, gilt Mercedes hands with luminous inserts, centre seconds hand, the bi-directional bezel with calibrated black insert and red triangle marker, the interior caseback numbered 6202 and I 54, screw-down crown, automatic movement, the case 36mm diameter, on a Rolex oyster riveted bracelet stamped 1-70 to interior of clasp.
The Rolex ref. 6202 'Turn-O-Graph' was first launched in 1953 and is recognised as the first 'tool' watch designed by Rolex for businessmen wishing to keep track of time via a bi-directional rotating bezel. The Turn-O-Graph however was soon rendered obsolete by the more functional dual-time zone GMT Master launched in 1954. Production of the 6202 ceased in the early 1960s after a relatively short and limited production making examples harder to come by.
