Property of a gentleman - University of Liverpool, George Holt Physics Laboratory, an ormolu presentation key awarded to Right Honourable Lord Kelvin, O.M., G.C.V.O., F.R.S., November 12th 1904, 5.9ins. (15cms.) long, in fitted case; together with two bronze medals, the larger from Brussels University to John Dewar Cormack, dated 1909, the smaller medal in fitted case. Footnote - Professor John Dewar Cormack C.B.E. C.M.G. (1870-1935) was educated at Glasgow University and subsequently lectured in engineering at Yorkshire College, Leeds, Glasgow University and University College, London. He held various posts in aeronautical departments during the Great War. He was awarded the decoration of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour by the French Government, and was also honorary Brigadier General and honorary Group Captain in the R.A.F..
