A Zanzibar late 19th century / early 20th century hardwood & brass bound wedding chest. The trunk having a rectangular lift top with geometric brass studding and inlay. The front of the chest decorated with embossed brass panel enhanced with brass studding to create stylized motifs. Three drawers below with brass drop handles. Further handles to each side. Raised bracket feet. The chest opening to reveal a spacious interiors with candle compartment to side. Measures approx. 64cm x 124cm x 54cm.
