A Persian Seljuk calligraphic tile, 11th/12th century, with relief moulded script picked out in black against a green glazed ground, between raised borders, 20.5cm x 22cm
The top right section of border may have come loose and reapplied, as seen from the diagonal crack and open cracks along the bottom and side of this section. There is a firing crack at the centre of the right hand side edge. Some glaze flaking on the lower raised border, which can be seen from the online images.
