A marble Art Deco mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside count wheel, the backplate stamped with the trademark of the blanc-roulant maker F. Marti, Paris, the rectangular verigrated marble chapter ring with raised Arabic numerals and brass 'spear' hands, the white marble case with curved brown marble sides inset with brass fluting, the base of black marble, height 22.5cm. Fritz Marti is recorded as working in Vieux-Charmont from circa 1876 until at least 1908, having received a gold medal at the Paris Exposition of 1900 for his blanc roulants.
