French Empire mantle clock, circa 1810, in bronze with a figure of Diana the huntress and a stag. The 8 day two train movement bears the inscription Hemon a Paris. The engine turned gilt brass dial features both the names of the clockmaker, Claude Hémon (flourished 1770-1820) and the bronzier Pierre-Victor Ledure (b 1783), within a plain brass chapter ring bearing Roman numerals. Striking on a polished steel bell on the hour and half. Pendulum present. Overall height 62cm, width and depth at base 17.2cm. Dial 8cm Diameter. Figure Height 34.5cm.
