Irish Londonderry Militia Victorian Officer waist belt clasp circa 1856-81. Fine rare silvered interlocking example. Circlet inscribed VITA VERITAS VICTORIA; seeded centre mounted with silver skeleton atop a mountain between two castles. Universal pattern rococo ends. VGC Raised as Londonderry Militia in 1793, redesigned Londonderry Light Infantry in 1855. Became 4th Bn. of Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers 1st July 1881, in May 1882 converted to Artillery as 9th Bde.
