Darren Yeadon was born in 1970 and brought up by the sea in Whitby. Yeadon began his work as a quarryman and stonemason. In this work he learnt about geology, how to extract materials from the earth, then to split huge pieces up, shape them and finally carve stones to fit its arches, church windows and architectural applications. He developed a real flair and interest in carving stone and three-dimensional forms. His works has been actively sought after in auctions due to his popularity.
