SHIP WRECK MAIL - TRAGIC LOSS OF THE SS LEINSTER BY TORPEDO: 9 Oct. 1918 env. Donegal to London with fine boxed "SALVED FROM/S.S. "LEINSTER"" cachet. The Leinster was torpedoed by U-123 the first torpedo hitting the mail room; she sank with a large loss of life. One bag of mail was washed up on the Isle of Man.
