Kings of all England, Edward the Martyr (975-978), AR Penny, Canterbury, Ælfstan, Draped and diademed bust left, legend ends ANGLORX, rev. Small cross pattée, ÆLFSTAN M¯O CANT, 1.47gm. (BEH ?; EMC ?; Jonsson p.51; BMC 4; N 763; S 1142). Good Very Fine and prettily toned, edge slightly rucked up at 3 o'clock (possibly due to a damaged die), good portrait of fine fluid style. Extremely rare.
