A rare Charles I oak boarded mural cupboard, Gloucestershire/Welsh Borders, circa 1630

The top with chamfered under edge, the central one-piece door boldly carved with a leafy-filled lozenge, and punch-decorated and carved stylised ‘pomegranates' to each edge, below the carved initials ‘M’ and ‘R’, flanked by slender stiff-leaf carved fixed panels, enclosing a single shelf, plain sides, 52cm high, 54cm wide, 27cm deep.
