A George IV inlaid mahogany eight day longcase clock with Adam and Eve automata, by Anthony Meyers of Bristol - the signed, painted arched Arabic dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials and painted and gilt spandrels, the arch with an automata of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, fronting a bell strike movement with four ring knopped pillars, the case with arched hood with fretwork cresting and mask to the glazed door, a fluted frieze and turned columns, the trunk with geometric ebony banding and canted corners, the similarly inlaid base with bracket feet (the back feet missing), 206.5cm high, lacks pendulum and weights.

More Information

* The clock has been restored (case, movement and dial). It remains in good physical condition. The hood lacks the finials and has a replacement handle to the door. The dial is in good condition, but lacks the hand from the subsidiary seconds dial. The seatboard has some packing pieces beneath it, so the movement and case may be matched. The clock does not have a pendulum or weights.
