British Commonwealth 10th Duke of Cambridge's Own (Hodson's Horse) Officers Silver Cuff links, this regiment which is now a part of the Armoured Corps of the Indian Army, had its beginnings as an irregular cavalry regiment during the time of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. In 1921, the British decided to cut down on the number of cavalry regiments, and re-amalgamated the two as the 10th Duke of Cambridge's Own Lancers (Hodson's Horse). At the time of WWII, the regiment was part of the 2nd Indian Armoured Brigade, which was later designated as the 252nd Indian Armoured Brigade. The brigade was under 31st Indian Armoured Division and served in the Middle East in Iraq and Palestine. The Cufflinks are hallmarked and dated 1923 made by Gaunt., S.R.G. & S.
